Loan-related fraud often depends on urgency, confusing promises and requests for sensitive information. A trustworthy loan journey should give you enough time and information to check who is handling your enquiry and what you are agreeing to.

First, establish the identity of the lender. The business that introduces a loan may be different from the bank or NBFC that actually provides it. Ask for the lender’s legal name and check its official communications and regulatory status through authoritative channels.

Second, be cautious of promises that a loan is guaranteed regardless of income, documentation or credit history. Genuine lending institutions apply eligibility and risk checks. A pre-screening discussion or an enquiry acknowledgement is not proof of approval.

Third, protect your credentials. Never share your OTP, online banking password, card PIN or remote device-access permission with anyone claiming to arrange disbursement. Be wary of requests to transfer money into a personal account as a condition for receiving a loan.

Fourth, examine the real cost of borrowing. Request official disclosures and check the APR, fees, repayment schedule, default consequences and the institution that will receive payments. Keep records of written communications and documents.

Finally, use official complaint channels if something appears wrong. Contact the genuine lender through its published website or branch rather than relying only on a telephone number supplied in a suspicious message.

Borrowing should solve a financial need, not create a new security risk. Taking a moment to verify important details can prevent lasting difficulties.
