Loan Eligibility and Documents: Prepare Before You Apply

There is no single eligibility rule that applies to every loan product or every lender. A complete application requires accurate personal information, evidence of repayment capacity and, where applicable, property or business records. Having documents ready may reduce avoidable follow-up requests; it does not guarantee approval.

Common Personal and Identity Records

Proof of identity and current address; contact details; date of birth where relevant; and any additional KYC information required by the lender under applicable rules.

Salaried Applicant Records

Employment information, recent income evidence, bank statements, existing debt obligations and other material required to establish income stability.

Self-Employed and Business Applicant Records

Business identity and constitution documents; financial statements; tax returns; banking records; GST records if applicable; and supporting documents required for the requested facility.

Property-Related Records

Title papers, purchase or ownership documents, plans and approvals, existing mortgage information, tax receipts and other legal or technical records requested for the particular property.

The Role of Credit History

Lenders may consider past repayment behaviour, credit utilisation, current borrowing, credit enquiries and other information. A credit score is an important signal, but it is not the only factor in a lending decision.

Information Security

Do not send full identity documents, passwords, OTPs or banking credentials through an unverified messaging channel. Share sensitive information only when necessary and through a secure, authenticated lender-approved process.
